Little things add up

Things happening not apparent in the photos below include some mechanical work (big HVAC ducting) and fire sprinkler system installation.
North side clerestory (now all white) is ready for stucco base coat

Drop-off roof  is done, note vehicles for scale

High west wall now covered with Densglass board - still waiting on round windows to be cut

Rear hall walls are framed - this view from the corner of the pastor's office which is going to be a very nice size

Hard to judge the scale from this pic, but the back hall is very wide (around 8') - will be very comfortable

Steeple base is now trimmed out, note LED light stalks

Beehive

At least five different subs were at work on the building Friday morning. The steeple contractor was back to finish sealing and flashing, the metal guys were roofing the drive-through, the mechanical sub was installing ductwork, the carpenters were framing inside work, and the stucco sub was working on all four sides of the building on base prep and trim profiles. The rear vaulted section is now enclosed -- it had been the last major open section. Stucco prep will begin there next week and is well underway on all other parts of the exterior. Expect the round window openings on the high west and east faces to be cut next week.

And even more

Best seat in the house

Yes, I really did run into the steeple hauler  on I-40 on my way in.
This picture from Bob shows how large the crane was.

More & more steeple

Seen from the connector road in front of Oak Ridge Baptist

Note Oak Ridge Baptist steeple (far below) in the lower right hand corner.

Steeple anatomy

Click here to view the photo below on Flickr where -- by moving your cursor over the image -- you  can learn some not-so-apparent facts about the steeple. It rises about 32' above the roof peak. The building itself is about 39 or 40' tall.

Yep, there's a ladder inside.

Onward and upward

Thanks to Kim for the pictures of the steeple on the building - I had to leave before it was set. And thanks to everyone who came for their patience and support.

Doesn't look that big but note man on roof for scale!!
