Steeple is on!
A wonderful cross-section of the congregation gathered to watch the setting of our steeple. Pictures later.

Steeple delivery Tuesday
The steeple is scheduled to arrive Tuesday, June 14 at noon. It should be in place by 1 pm. Those wishing to watch the installation should be at the site at noon. Please park close to the curb on the right side of Clearview Court. Please park 50 feet from the cul-de-sac since at least two 18-wheelers and large crane will be coming and going and they'll need plenty of room. Watch for Brad to direct you to a safe viewing area. Call him at 387.3868 for further info or if you need assistance.
Inside & out
Lots of activity today:

Scaffolding up, high roof on
More big changes today -- scaffolding now stands at both ends of the building to facilitate the stucco prep and remainder of the high roof is done. All the waterproofing finish has been applied to the external walls. Stucco prep and laying of the block that will ring the base of the building are next. It really is starting to look like the color rendering at the top of this page. Just wait until the steeple arrives next week! And good news on that front: it looks like we may get free (donated) use of a crane.

Steeple in a week
Next Tuesday, June 14 at noon is the tentative time for setting the steeple! We'll have to supply a crane as the equipment now on site turns out not to be large enough to do the job. Please pray for our efforts to get a crane donated or at a reduced rate to help us stay within budget. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the round window openings on each end of the building -- they'll be cut soon.

More roof, schedule info
The south high roof is nearly finished and here's some exciting schedule news: interior wall framing may begin next week and the steeple is scheduled for delivery on the week of June 13. Also, the stucco material will begin arriving next week so we won't have to look at yellow board forever.

High roofing begins!
Roofing has begun on the high central section of the building and almost all of the exterior sheathing is in place. We'll be known as "that yellow building on the hill" for a while. You may notice that the upper roof panels have a different profile and are wider than that of the lower shed roof. This is by design.

Little by little
The dramatic days are over, but little by little the building is filling in. See below the support beams for the rear room of the balcony which juts into the narthex rather like the prow of a ship. Also, notice that the lower level roofing is creeping clockwise around the building ( skipping the back wing for now), coming up the south side.
